Without coverflow iTunes looks earily similar to the Windows Media Player now.

That shows you Apple's current development philosophy: Make OS X and its apps as attractive to Windows and iOS users as possible because they are our future cash cow.

lol. One could put together a pretty convincing argument that Windows Media Player is better now!

Totally Agree.  Its a retrograde step to remove a useful feature and not replace it with something better.

Is anyone else experiencing strange behavior in iTunes now?

I have had songs that will play and the play count shows up, but the last play date remains blank-- while the rest of the songs from that album are fine.

If a song only "half plays" and skips on it has neither a play count nor a play date-- but if I unplug the drives from the desktop machine and plug them into an old machine, a G4 running a very old copy of iTunes, then, guess what?  The whole song plays and the play count and play date updates.

I have "multiple copies" of an album show up in iTunes, but if I go to the drive and look there is only one copy there, and if I try to delete one of each of the duplicated songs both disappear.

It makes no sense to me, but it makes me feel there is more to the disappearance of cover flow than we thought.  It appears to be some type of cross platform design that is biting the hand that coded it.

    Anyone?

What you describe is not strange behavior to me.

The only mildy strange behavior I'm experiencing is with Podcasts played on my old iPad 1 (iOS 5) via the Music app (as opposed to the Podcasts app). They're not getting marked as played when I sync. (Since Podcasts were removed from the Music app in iOS 6, iTunes 11 doesn't recognize Podcasts played via any Apps other than the Podcast app.) Other than that, iTunes 11 has been totally rock solid for me.

I think you should ask for help on a new thread, not on the Cover Flow thread.

YES! Lots of strange behavior!  I assume by "Cover Flow" you mean the stores home page and category home pages.

I have had the most recent update to the program since it first popped up.  I have an iMac and I wasn't even able to get the store to show up most of the time, and then 2 days ago graphics in the store started disappearing and then finally all graphics.  Just a white page, that, is, all.  Latest version nothing new.

What the Heck is going on?!

Please, let's not hijack the thread. If you don't know what Cover Flow is, or don't have a response to it being removed from iTunes 11, please don't post here.

Put me in the going back to 10.7 Group

I've tried for the past few months to use Itunes 11,  I thought I'd get use to it, or it would grow on me.. NOPE

THE LACK OF COVER FLOW MAKES iTUNES 11 LOOK LIKE CRAP

If I wanted my Mac to look like Windows Media Player Garbage, I'd be running a PC.

Well, sorry to step on anyone's toes as I am new to the forums.

I do now know what cover flow is and I won't miss it much, never used it much.

Also if someone seems to not know something, saying "get out" is not very helpful

to anyone.  Don't bother replying to this as I will not be replying back anymore.

borgboy7.....please don't let one person scare you off.  When I first started coming to the forums here there was someone who responded similarly to my post because I posted on a Mac users thread by mistake instead of the one for windows users..imagine, how dare i? lol..I just shrugged it off cause some people are so aggravated by the time they bother to come here that they have lost all patience.  I really LOVED coverflow and am still so upset that they changed iTunes to such an inferior version that I can't even enjoy it any more.

I haven't updated my phone yet...I learned with what happened a few updates ago with the draining battery issue to wait til they work out the kinks.....but my son has....he still has coverflow on his iPHone 4s.  At least that is one consolation.

Did anyone download the iOS6 on their iPhone or iPod Touch and does it affect any of us that are still on iTunes 10.7 and don't want 11? Does it take Coverflow off the iPod Touch and/or iPhone and lastly does it affect the ability to sycn if were still iTunes 10.7 users? Does it affect our iTunes 10.7 in any way either on our ios device (iPod Touch or iPhone) or Mac? Thanks!

I've got an iPhone 5 with iOS 6.1 (10B143) and there are no issues with iTunes 10.7. The Music app on the iPhone still has its Cover Flow and there are no sync issues of which I'm aware. From what I can see, iOS won't require iTunes 11 or higher until iOS 7 comes out. As far as I'm concerned, Apple can take their time with that supposed upgrade.
