I'm getting the error message "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store".  But I'm able to get on the internet.  I can search the app store with no problem. This message just started about a month ago prior to that I had no problems.  Suggestions?

Same here, but for me it works when I log in as admin. I'm guessing you're a non admin user?

I uninstalled and installed again, but the same message pops up. According to terminal, nothing is wrong with the iTunes connection, and yet I'm unable to download any purchased content. I spent over 2 hours on setting up three different accounts with different authorisation on our iMac (admin/me/kid), and all works fine, except the appstore. Even though our library is shared, I can't import apps from the admin account as well. Any suggestions?

Try to click on Store menu > Deauthorize this computer and Authorize it again. Relaunch iTunes and now this message must be gone.

Didn't do it for me. I made myself an admin account and now it works again. Strange... Thanks anyways.
