This seems to have done the trick.  I confirmed the scrolling ASMeetingResponseItem messages in console with XCode (awesome debugging tool), removed my mail accounts, rebooted, and re-installed mail account.  So far no more scrolling console messages.

    Thanks!

I tried the exchange remove and reboot (in fact I did a factory restore and treated it like a new iPhone) but while it's better, I am still losing a percentage every couple of minutes....  crazy, before the upgrade my phone was fine (even when roaming outside the US) for a day easy ....  - this *****!

Can everyone please stop suggesting this. It does NOTHING. These apps are NOT using any battery life.

Add me to the list of those affected. I have a 32gb 4S and the battery is draining at practically one percent per minute. I do not, however, have any heat-related problems that others do. Going to try the XCode suggestion and post my results.

No problem. I didn't mean to sound aggressive. I'm just frustrated with Apple. Have a good one.

There is a bug with IOS 6.1 when you upgrade.  It will cause your email accounts to constantly retrieve or send.  To fix the problem, go to SETTINGS; MAIL, CONTACTS, CALENDARS.  Now tap on each email account you have and tap DELETE ACCOUNT (the delete account is on the bottom of the screen).  Once you delete all your email accounts, power down your iphone.  Power it back up after a few minutes and reload your email accounts.  My iphone went from using 100% of the battery in 6 hours to lasting 2 days.    Plus my usage went way way down.  Apple needs to fix the issue with IOS 6.1.  But, until they do, this is your option.

Went to bed last night at 100%, woke up with 74%. No push notifications, calls, texts, etc. It just sat on my nightstand. Thanks, Apple!

Hi everyone, I have also managed to isolated my iPhone5 issue to Exchange mail, removing and adding the account didn't help as I completely restored the phone as new. The root cause for me lies inside data fetching.

    1. Under this "Fetch New Data" menu, turn off 'Push',
    2. Try to Fetch less say hourly,
    3. You must go to 'Advanced' tab making sure Exchange mail and calendar are changed from the default 'Push' to 'Fetch' as well, the default "Push" seems to overide everything you set on the page before.

Now my iPhone5 runs like a dream, battery is significantly better than my 4S also on iOS 6.1. Hope this helps!

I can't overstate how I hate "solutions" like this. Restoring a phone and going through that entire process shouldn't be considered a fix. I love how Apple cavilierly suggests this so often. I've owned a million electronics, and restoring them back to the factory settings was unheard of until fairly recently. This ranks right up there with people saying stuff like, "Just not check your email more than once a month!" or "Do you REALLY need to actually MAKE calls with your phone???"

Obviously I'm exaggerating, but it's like telling me to not watch certain channels in order for my tv to stop malfunctioning. I know these are workarounds, etc., but I think the heat should be on the companies to actually not put out garbage and use us as beta testers at a cost of several hundred dollars.

Also I can report having major Battery Drain issues with iOS 6.1 on my iPhone 5 Verizon 64GB. Current Usage is 2 hrs 23 mins, 16 hrs 14 min standby @ 55%.I've barely touched the phone all day, made no calls it just drians. The solution is NOT to erase my phone and set up as new. That is unaccepable, it worked fine under iOS 6.0.2 and I should not have to restore my phoneand lose my music etc. Apple better address these issues, this is beyond unacceptable for a $500 device that touts itself as the easiest phone to use. BS
