Well thanks a lot MacJack and CSound, I think I'm all ready to migrate when my new computer comes later today!

I've had my computer for almost two weeks now. It is up and down. It is usually pretty quick, and often refreshingly speedier than my old macbook. But sometimes, like earlier today, it will be slower than my old computer ever was. It took about 20-30 seconds to get the dock to show up and to use it (which feels like an hour when you're trying to do something so **** simple), and other similar things like clicking on something in my iTunes library took maybe 15 seconds. Then it took probably 3 minutes or more to close everything when I restarted it, whereas sometimes the same process will take only about 10 seconds. It booted up and reopened programs in no time and I'm fine now.
