I need to connect PCs on our company network to folders on my iMac. I've tried everything. Nothing works. I have folders on my Mac set up for sharing. I did manage, yesterday afternoon, to connect to my Mac from my virtual PC that's on this same Mac. I did this:

net use X: \\macpeter.local\documents

The name of my Mac is "macpeter."

But, this morning, even that doesn't work. I have no idea why.

Thanks.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.6)

Hi, since nobody has answered yet, I'll try to help.

Is the Mac at work also, or at home?

Are the IPs the same on all of them in the 1st 3 numbers?

OK, on the Mac, what all do you have enabled in Sharing?

And what is allowed connection wise in Security Pref Pane?

In Security, what connections are allowed?

I don't understand. What is this "net use \\something or other"?
