I have updated to IOS 6.1 on my iphone 5 on the Bell network, and now I can no longer see my hotspot data usage in the settings menu. Has the location been changed or did they delete this option? I tether my phone constantly and need to keep track of this. The only option I can now see is "cellular Network Data" where there also used to be another opstion for viewing tethered data usage. Thanks, Dan.

I have the iPhone 4 on iOS 6, and still have the option to check tethered data amounts.

Check: Settings - General - Usage - Cellular Usage. Here you'll see: Call Time, Cellular Network Data,  Tether Data.

Weird indeed. Hopefully someone with an iPhone 5 will drop by to share their experience.

I have the same issue. I have an iphone 4 with virgin canada (own by Bell). I used to check the tethering data usage often during a month but yesterday, I noticed that the option is gone. I'm running ios 6.1.  I tried again this morning after rebooting my phone but still missing. Strange....

Is this an option control by Apple or by the carrier?

I know that, for newer pricing plans, Verizon has essentially eliminated the distinction between kinds of data usage. You get a monthly allowance and you can use it on any of the devices you have tied to that plan.

For Verizon, you'll get the most accurate (as far as your bill is concerned) data usage information if you download the My Verizon Mobile app. I believe if your plan still meters your tethering separately, it will still show in the app.

On Fido/Rogers in Canada we still see Tether Data on IOS 6.1 on my Iphone 4.  Much like Stedman.

It must be a carrier unique situation a.s Meg is suggesting

    Cheers

I'll keep an eye on my usage next month to see if the cellular data usage also keep track of tethering data. I know that since it's being removed, it didn't updated the data usage. Last week I had a total of nearly 5g of both cellular and tethering datas and today it says only 2g of cell usage and I'm within the same month. Maybe for now on, it will combine the two.

    I'll keep you posted.

    Thanks for your input guys!

Glad I was able to shed a little light on the problem.

    Best of luck.
