Thunderbolt is only available on Apple computers, so this would probably lock me into only buying Apple computers in the future, right?
For awhile anyway.
So far, I'm not impressed with reliability of the new 3 TB drivs, & especially the 4 TB drives as single units...
There's a lot of people finding a lot of bad sectors, with more developing over time. A couple people reported nearly 1TB being unreadable after 3 months.
Now with RAID, there are several versions/levels, RAID0 makes 2 drives into one faster one with no backup, RAID1 turns 2 drives into a Mirrored backup of one on both, but is slower of course, RAID5 combines both of these in 4 or 5 drive setups.
I'd consider 2 backups of everything, rotating them for longevity.
