I have just bougth an iMac and the program from Nikon - CaptureNX2.

It should be both for Mac and W... When I try to install I get an error message, "dont support power PC".

Is there anything to do about this?

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

Unfortunately Capture NX2 is a Power PC ( Rosetta ) application and not compatible with Mountain Lion. I too had this ' problem ' and switched to Photoshop. I also use Nikon View NX2. I think Photoshop Elements is compatible with Mountain Lion. This might also affect your printer/scanner software in which case you may be able to download Apple's drivers etc.

Sorry cannot be of  more help.

iPhoto, Aperture and Lightroom will all connect to your camera and import images for editing. Aperture and Lightroom will allow you to shoot tethered (images appear on screen as soon as you shoot them) if you're working in a studio environment.

You will need to use the latest version, the info site and trial download is here:

I've been using Capute NX2 since the release of Mountain Lion. It works as well as any other Mac compatible raw conversion application including Aperture and Lightroom. I would argue that in terms of rendering and converting NEF files, it is superior to both Aperture and Lightoom.
