    rickyXP78 you saved me!

    Thank you SO MUCH!!!

    I spent 4 days trying soooooo many ways to install this **** Windows! And finally!!!

    WAW.

    I did exactly what you did with Xcode and it worked!!!

    I also had to put my computer in English (don't know why it seems it's not working otherwise)

    Well thanks again!

    I am having the exact same problem.  Fixed the document in the boot camp package so the boot from usb option was available, but now just get stuck at "no bootable disk".  What is really ******* me off is I just used the usb to install windows 7 using BCA on my mid 2012 mbp, but now am having issues trying to do the same on my brothers 2011 MBP.  Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks in advance

    Are you trying to install the same copy of Windows twice?

    I'll be working on identifying why some of you can't boot after the fix.  I'm afraid it may be a BIOS issue, but really hope its more inline with you guys missing a specific fle that allows the machine to actually boot from the USB drive.  I'll reply this weekend after I do some research into it.

    Still can't boot....

    I am unable to boot as well.  I'm shown the same black screen and "no bootable disk".  Creating the usb drive with windows 7 ultimate goes off without a hitch.

    I'm attempting this on a late 2011 MBP 8,2.  I'll continue to research solutions and will post back here if I find anything.  Anyone else had any luck yet?

    Update:

    As an experiment I put the same exact usb key in my very old first ever macbook 1,1 to see what would happen.  I already had refit installed so when the refit boot menu came up I selected the usb key and it started the instalation process!! (***...)

    I aborted and put the key back in my macbook pro late 2011 8,2 and the same old "no bootable disk" caption shows up, even though I created the usb boot key in boot camp on the MBP...

    Ok, well I suppose next thing for me to try is to install windows on the macbook 1,1 and clone it over to the Pro?

    Someone correct me if i'm mistaken in thinking this might work.

    Also, any thoughts on wy this isn't working on the Pro?

    Thanks

    Hi

    I have a 17 inch MacBookPro 3,1

    It has a superdrive and no matter what i do i cannot for the life of me get windows 7 installed, i have tried everything, cd, usb

    I get efi problems, boot problems and all sorts, I have now upgraded it to Lion but the problems are still here, has anyone worked out a real way to fix this?

    I dont understand why its so hard, i eventually brought an external dvd incase thats the issue now i get told its using too much power so im back to superdrive or usb.

    Please help.

    You have a far better chance of getting help if you start a new thread devoted to your problem.

    i managed to do it: DELETE what is in undrelined.

    <key>PreUSBBootSupportedModels</key>

              <array>

                        <string>MacBook7,1</string>

                        <string>MacBookAir3,2</string>

                        <string>Macmini4,1</string>

                        <string>iMac12,2</string>

              </array>

    In case you're running it on a WIN 7 only macs and want to install win 8 also delete this:

    <key>Win7OnlyModels</key>

              <array>

                        <string>MacBook7,1</string>

                        <string>MacBookAir3,2</string>

                        <string>MacBookPro5,5</string>

                        <string>Macmini4,1</string>

                        <string>iMac10,1</string>

              </array>

    worked for me. hope it helps

    Another question. Is it possible format the BootCamp partition in another way? I have a backup from the partition and can restored it with Win Clone.

    Thank you.
