Given, however, that the original iPhone was discontinued four and a half years ago, the chances of any further updates to iOS for that model are vanishingly small. And most current software would not run on that iPhone's slower hardware in any case, even if an update to iOS were made. Time to upgrade to a newer iPhone, I would think.
