Hi there,

I have an iPhone 5 and iPad 2 with I use imessage on perfectly.  Have recive at tel number and my email adress.

I have recently just got the new 27inch imac with mountain Lion and try to set up imessage on that.  However, I simply cannot get it to work.

I have the account all correct via my apple ID and iCloud but it will not sync with the other two devices and when I try and send a message from it either to a telephone number or email address it fails.

I've deleted the account, signed in and out and still nothing.

I'm actually really disappointed with mountain Lion.

I've tried looking this up but have now given up.

When you add the Apple ID as the iMessage account details does it indicate it is not registering ?

Try putting the iPhone in Airplane mode for few minutes and restart Messages app on the Mac once the iPhone in connected again.

This creates a Start Point" as it seems the expected set up is Mac first, iOS device second (and third).

When you restart Messages it should get an alert from the iMessages server that the iPhone is using the iPhone Number and Apple ID.

Repeat for the iPad is required.
