The developer's site suggests that it does. I did not use vertical scrolling when I was using Steermouse so I cannot tell you if/how well it works.

Apr 23, 2012 2:07 PM in response to The Pastor Gby Joshua J Macrae,Thanks Pastor.
I took a look & I', thinking steermouse is for, well, mice. . I'm using a trackbal ( Kensington Expert Mouse ).
I have to say I think Kensington are well off the mark just dropping features like this. .
I shall foray for an answer or an alternative product. .
Regards . .
I looked. .
If you're using a trackball with Track works, hold shift to scroll horizontally, alt to zoom in & out .
I'm rolling again !

Apr 24, 2012 5:53 AM in response to Joshua J Macraeby The Pastor G,I used Steermouse with my old Kensington Expert Mouse. It was the one with the buttons across the top and the little scroll wheel above the trackball. It worked well for me.

Dec 13, 2012 2:47 AM in response to The Pastor Gby North Pole,I got Trackball pref Pane to work fine with my Expert Mouse on Lion... But I had to delete the " com.kensington.mouseworks.prefpane.plist" preference , then it all worked fine... that old preference fine screws it all up....
Cheers Tom....

Jan 27, 2013 6:16 PM in response to ejax33by W1KOK,Anyone contemplating buying the rather expensive K64325 trackball should understand that
the Trackball Works software from Kensington doesn't work with OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion
Kensington is NOT Macintosh friendly. Don't be fooled by any promises by them.
Also, their support team consists of people in India who cannot speak North American English.
You have been warned.

Feb 7, 2013 3:32 PM in response to ejax33by am1979,Success!
My Kensington Expert Mouse PRO (Model #64213) works on Mac OS 10.7.5 with Mouseworks 3.0 now that I set my MacPro to boot in 32-bit kernel rather than 64-bit. Here's the KB article on how to set your Mac to boot with 32-bit kernel rather than 64:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3773
NOTE: I have read that 10.8 only allows for a 64-bit kernel, so if you are a die hard old school trackball user and need Mouseworks, it seems like you'll have to stick with 10.7.x unless or until there is another option.
PS: I tried Steermouse, and wasn't happy with it. There weren't enough options to customize the various buttons on my trackball like Mouseworks, i.e. "chording".

Jun 26, 2013 2:10 AM in response to W1KOKby Kris.audioplanet,I use mouseworks and my kensigton Expert Mouse on Mountain Lion. The only thing I have to do is to launch the pref pane after the boot in order to get the mouse to respond with normal speed. Otherwise it is sluggish.

Jul 9, 2014 12:58 PM in response to HockeyFan1972by JP.8898,This works! for the old, otherwise unsupported Kensington 72121 mouse. I love mine too, and finally now the extra buttons will work. (Just set the button menu to Keyboard Shortcuts for those two buttons) http://www.macupdate.com/appnew/mac/7115/usb-overdrive-x
