I have connected the HDMI3 cable to my tv and imac and I have the screen saver on the tv.  How do I connect a utube video on my imac to the tv please?

It's impossible to help you because you have not supplied adequate information. Please complete your profile so we know which iMac you have and the version of OS X you are using. Without the basics we cannot supply any useful information.

We also need to know which iMac you have because we have no idea what output ports it has. That information is critical, iMacs have been out for years and the hardware changes so without that information we're only guessing. If you don't know which iMac  you have the please click (in the upper right of this page) Support - Tech Specs and then input your serial number.

It is sufficient to know the Machine ID.  Do not tell us the serial number.  iMac x,y is all the info we need, an x value and a y value.

I didn't ask for his SN info, please re-read my post. I only instructed the OP how to find out which iMac he owns so we can provide the info he is after.

Move the browser window entirely within the screen you want the video to appear.    Then use the controller on the far right of the youtube video to make it fullscreen on the screen the window is on.  The controller icon you click is pointed by the red arrow in this image:

Lastly, when you are done watching the video, click the ESC key on the upper right corner of the keyboard.

To move the browser window to the TV, usually all you have to do is drag its titlebar to the right side, and it will move that way.     Then once it is mostly there, click on the green circle in the upper left corner of the window.

If it isn't dragging to the TV screen, make sure the arrangement in Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Displays appears thus:

You do not want to mirror.  And the white bar is on the screen that has the menubar and the Dock.  Don't touch the white bar, unless you want to move it to a different display.  Just drag the blue in the arrangement above.

That way if you drag the window to the right it will appear on the display without the menubar.
