I tried your "solution" and now I get nothing. I knew it was stupid kludge and I should have left it alone

I am having the exact same problem as BillTe where Facebook wasn't showing up under the notification menu under settings so I couldn't change the banners, alerts or that so I deleted my Facebook app and reset all the settings and Facebook finally showed up under notifications but now after a few hours it starts to disappear again. If anyone else has had this happen and knows how I can fix this permanently that would be greatly appreciated!

I've posted more than several time on this post with the problem. To be honest, this has been a problem since the summer of 2012 where FB IS NOT STAYING IN MY NOTIFICATION CENTRE.Each time I get it into the centre, it's fine provided I never turn off the phone. As soon as I do turn it off, it's no longer in the notification centre. So I guess there's very little hope of anything changing anytime soon.

This problem is doing my head in however I did notice today when I had Facebook open on my iPad that I got all notifications for Facebook app including sounds on my iPhone 5. This also worked the other way round....weird! Obviously I ain't gonna do that all the time just to get notifications but definitely highlights a glitch I reckon

The push notifications have stopped to work yesterday on my iPad 3 (Wi-Fi), i didn't changed anything on it. It was working fine, but now it's no more. Anyone knows something about it? Maybe is a issue on facebook's server?

I know the ans...first install os x mountain lion again above all your installation..then see the build it should be.. (12c60) then..update every thing..but dont install or update..."update for macbook pro and macbook air 2.0 "it is the culprit ...then hide that update..and remember to install offline version of combo and supplement update 10.8.2..ok..as sometimes when ur notification cetre not work then installoffline "combo and supp" updates...ok..REMEMBER NOT TO INSTALL MACBOOK AIR AND MACBOOK PRO 2.0 UPDATE...PLZ...AND USE UR SYSTEM...!! follow me https://www.twitter.com/ankit8083 https://www.facebook.com/ankit8083...good luck..DONT CHANGE UR BUILD..AS IF U WILL CHANGE IT THEN UR SHARE BUTTON WILL NOT WORK..IN NEW BUILD..!!And wait for apple to get new build after april 2013...but not download macbook pro and macbook air 2.0 update..which help in graphical improvements and some usb devices...!!

I just figured how to fix this issue.
I had this issue on my ip4 on 6.1.2 and not on my ipad3 6.1.2. the difference was that i installed facebook messenger on my ip4.
so just delete both fb messenger and facebook delete your account from fb, on setting -> safari delete both history and cookies data.
if your iphone is jailbroken you may open /var/mobile/Library/SpringBoard/applicationstate.plist using iFile plist editor then delete both entries com.facebook.Facebook and com.facebook.Messenger.
reboot or respring your iphone than make sur you install facebook before fb messenger and you will get the popup to accept push on the first launch of fb .
I hope this will help.

This have SOLVED all my notification problem:
Go to ios Setting/Mail,Contacts,Calendars/Fetch New Data: set Push to ON (my was set to off)
Scroll down to Advanced and set icloud to Push (my was set to manual)
I deactivated all this settings because of battery drain, but after this, all works fine.
Be sure that all Facebook notification settings are active in the Notifications window.

Thanks for posting. My settings have always been like that on my iPhone and iPad and I have the problem. I totally appreciate all of the post with fixes. But the are not really true fixes. Until the root cause of the problem is know and address, there will be no real fix. I am happy it worked for you. Thanks!

I have tried and appreciate all of the suggestions. They do not fix the problem in my case. Without knowing and addressing the root cause they will not really address the problem. I am thankful for all the suggestions and glad these changes have work for people.
