Delete it and the temp file before exporting again.
A .mov.temp file is a file OS X uses "during" the transcoding process. It is an incomplete data file. It is not good for anything a user would need. Usually the result of an incomplete export. Did you verify in the background process window that the export was in fact finished before trying to open that file?
Delete it and the new .mov, then try exporting again. Maybe even try to a different location.
I have found in the past that in the sitution where you're only left with a temp file, it has to be deleted totally first, before transcoding again, or the new one gets messed up.
