Can't add songs to iTunes 11

    Downloaded WinAmp. Problem solved. Fix your stuff, Apple. This is deffective software now if you can't add songs.

    This worked for me:

     

    Find your added songs in your playlists (you'll find them there)

    Select them

    Right click and 'Make version for MP3'

    As a little miracle you'll now find the album in your album and number-tab.

    The album now contains two versions of each song. Delete one and the album remains.

    Thanks Stephanie T - The File -> open when done to the folder that contains everything worked!! It hadn't previously worked when I went only to the subfolder it was in, though? All of the other tricks - signing in/out, unclicking iCloud in the preferences.. did nothing. Thanks again.

    None of the hundreds of suggestions in this thread worked for me. Removing all the songs and recopying them would obviously work, but that is completely ridiculous (I have 50GB of music synced to my iPhone)

     

    I must say this is an incredibly ****** piece of software, and nobody would be putting up with it for this long if it weren't for the fact that they've become completely dependent upon iTunes for syncing music.

     

    A time to ditch iPhone and iTunes.

    Uncheck "Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases" in Preferences. Mine got resolved by this. Hope it helps.

    Interesting but thus wasn't checked for me. Now I checked it. I think I mentioned when I took the movie out to save in external drive it created the iTunes extras but it will not stream to apple to, just the regular movie,and will nit allow coping to iPod classic for unknown reasons? Is cloud back us good or bad to use? I can't decide

    Yes, I'm with you. When the contract is up on my service I'll be picking up an Android-based phone that has memory card capabilities and is more open-ended in music management.

     

    I've been using Songbird but not syncing with that app. I recently heard this is possible. Only 3 months left on my AT&T contract.

    Unchecking "Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases" fixed me.

    I could create a recently added playlist to find the songs but they didn't exist anywhere else in iTunes.

    even i am facing the same problem.

     

    but i figured out a way to listen to these songs (in iTunes).

     

    create a new playlist and add these songs directly to your playlist. these songs surprisingly show only in the playlist and not in the main library, but atleast you can listen to them whenever you want to, as well as, sync them to your Apple devices.

     

    just a temporary solution i guess, and hopefully apple should come up with ua patch for this in their new update.

    This is a general post covering all the iTunes problems, i originally posted a problem when trying to add songs to iTunes 11 and seemed to have luck when turning off cloud purchases, there seems to be a problem when using cloud or icloud.

     

    I use iCal and have had no problems until i decided to turn on iCloud, my appointment blocks changed colour and when i turned off iCloud i lost all my appointment blocks and stupidly did not do a backup.

     

    Not sure if this is a coincidence but is as though when cloud purchases or iCloud are off anything you add is added to your harddrive but when cloud purchases or iCloud are on, all the details are stored somewhere out there in the universe.

     

    Just a thought, not a definite solution.

     

    I must add that now i have got to grips with it, iTunes 11 is great to use.

    I'm having the same problem, I just added it to a playlist and could listen to it from there. It didn't add to the library though...

    Open iTunes.In the Summary of your Device - Options-Check Automatically Sync and check Manually Managae Music And Videos.

    This One Solved my Problem

    I know this is kind of old. But what I did is:

    Find the folder where the music is stored on your C drive.

    Copy the songs.

    Go to where your iPhone/iPod is in iTunes.

    Click on "on this iPhone/iPod".

    Paste the songs (ctrl/command v).

    The songs should sync onto your device.

     

    That worked for me.
