Your printer needs to be AirPrint capable, and running on the same network as your iPhone. There are no settings in iPhone (other than the right network) that affect printing.

If your printer does not have AirPrint support, you can find an AirPrint server utility that will run on your Mac or PC that will share your printer with iOS devices. Google "AirPrint Server" and you will find several, some of which are free.

I just got set up with FingerPrint which installs on a computer and then finds your printers on your iPhone or Pad. Basically turns your printers into AirPrint printers. Pretty cool. There are others out there as well.
