The AirPort Utility, itself, does not use a password to access it. However, the AirPort base station can have up to four different passwords that are all accessible via the AirPort Utility.

The simplest way would be to perform a "soft" reset on the AirPort base station. This type of reset will temporarily disable all of the base station's passwords up to five minutes. This should give you ample time to access the base station with the AirPort Utility to change it.

If you don't want to actually change the password, then you can possibly retrieve the password from the OS X Keychain, as follows:

    • Run the Keychain Access utility found in \Applications\Utilities
    • In the category column (on the left side of the utilities' window), select "All Items."

    For the Wireless Security password:

    • In the right column look for your Network Name. It will have a "Kind" of "AirPort network password."
    • Double-click on your network name listing.
    • Click on "Show password."
    • Enter your Mac's administrator's password
    • Your wireless network's security password should now be displayed.

    For the Base Station password:

    • In the right column look for your base station's name. It will have a "Kind" of "AirPort base station password."
    • Double-click on your base station name listing.
    • Click on "Show password."
    • Enter your Mac's administrator's password.
    • Your base station password should now be displayed.

Try restoring the factory settings of the AirPort Express and delete all profiles

    you have set:

    1 Unplug the AirPort.

2 With the tip of a straightened paper clip to hold the reset button while

    plug the AirPort Express.

Wait until the status light stops blinking and then restart the base station.
