No, you don't need to run it from both just the new 10.8 install server.

Can you paste the output from this command
sudo dsync -u username -f -v mirror username@IP_of_old_server
substitute in the username and the ip of the old server.

Is CLHouse the shortname of the user account? Or is the shortname all lower case? Maybe try it will all lower case.
If that doesn't work maybe set the root user password on the new server and then run the command under the root account.
sudo passwd root
dsync -u username -f -v mirror username@IP_of_old_server
Maybe there are some specific instructions you need to send that tells dsync where the old mailboxes are, I'm not sure. If you take a look at the dsync wiki link I posted maybe something can tip you to a certain option you may need.
If this doesn't work I'd probably use this - https://discussions.apple.com/message/21193369#21193369
Unfortunately dsync doesn't tell us a whole lot.OS X Server

I have a Mac mini Server (dual HD) running 10.6.8 which I will migrate/upgrade to 10.8 in teh coming days. I have one additional question/remark. My 10.6.8 server is running on a 2x500GB Software Mirror RAID. My idea was to do the following
1. Remove one of the HDs from the Mirror RAID, it becomes a sepate disk in the computer
2. Install 10.8 and Server on the detached HD, migrate stuff over from the HD with 10.6.8 Server
3. If all is well, turn the 10.8 Server into the new Mirrrored RAID
Is that doable?
