I assume you have checked to make sure the iPhone is set to sync over wifi? (With the iPhone connected via USB, go to the device in iTunes and check the Summary tab.) I figure you've already checked that, but I hate to assume.
If it's set to sync over wifi, then does it ever show up at all and disappear at times, or does it never show up at all?
I sync two iPhones and an iPad over wifi, and at any given time, one or all of them will drop from the list of devices.
To get them back, I toggle wifi off on my Mac and then back on. 8 times out of 10, that will cause all devices to reappear in the list. The other two times, I also close and reopen iTunes.
Oh, and there is a rare occurrence where neither of those will work. In this case, I reboot the phone to make it reappear in iTunes.
Hi and thanks, Greg. You are right not to assume But yes it is checked to sync via wifi. and you are correct again in that it shows up sometimes and then disappears. I say sometimes because it does not show up more than showing up and disappearing. much more.
I will try the toggle via the Mac. I also close and reopen iTunes but usually that doesn't help. It just repeats the problem.
Too bad. this should not happen at all....... 8 out of 10 is NOT good.........
Thanks I will try right now the toggle suggestion.
Well, i just tried it a couple of times. No luck. Must be those 2 times!
anyway I will continue. hopefully apple will do something.
Seems to be a lot of issues out there with both iTunes 11.0 and Lion. I never expected this from Apple.
Thanks for your help. I will try to keep you informed
