Dec 23, 2012 5:26 PM in response to Sumit Butaniby JustMe68_86,I have the same issue. NO "via ios" ONLY "via mobile"
iPhone 4 - IOS 6.0.1
iPad 3rd Generation IOS 6.0.1
FB App installed both devices from Settings//Facebook/Install App using IOS FB Integration with my username/password.
Troubleshooting Done to this point -
Uninstalled FB on iPhone and reinstalled again using the FB in Settings/Facebook/Install App. Entered my username/password in Settings/Facebook.
Turned Wi-Fi off and posted using Cellular connection (says via mobile).
Turned Cellular off and posted connected to Wi-Fi (says via mobile)
Set iPad 3 back to factory default.
Reinstalled everything fresh (did not use iCloud backup).
Installed FB app from Settings/Facebook/Install App. and entered username/password in Settings/Facebook.
Turned Wi-Fi off and posted using 4G cellular connection. (says via mobile)
Turned 4G Cellular off and posted via Wi-Fi (says via mobile)
ALL of my posts from both devices show as being "via mobile". This is extremely frustrating since everyone else in the world seems to post status/comments/pictures/etc from their iPhones and iPads and get the "via IOS" except me.
At first I thought maybe it was an iPhone 4 issue, but the iPad 3 is the newest version of iPad and even it says "posted via mobile" instead of "ios".

Dec 23, 2012 5:46 PM in response to JustMe68_86by KiltedTim,You are troubleshooting a problem that does not exist...
Why do I say it doesn't exist? Because it's not supposed to do that. That's the way Facebook coded the app to work. If you would like it to be different, talk to facebook.

Dec 23, 2012 5:51 PM in response to KiltedTimby JustMe68_86,But the problem DOES exist and it IS supposed to do that (posts showing via IOS) on FB posts when posting from FB/IOS integration.
My husbands iPhone and iPad BOTH post saying "via IOS" along with everyone else's posts who say "via IOS" on their FB posts and pictures they have posted.

Dec 23, 2012 5:57 PM in response to JustMe68_86by KiltedTim,No, it is NOT supposed to do that. Older versions of the app do, the current version (actually the last several versions) do NOT do that.
Either way, the facebook app is NOT an Apple product. Contact facebook support if you think it should be doing things differently.

Dec 23, 2012 6:04 PM in response to KiltedTimby JustMe68_86,Regardless - After troubleshooting, I got FB to post my posts showing "via IOS" like they do on everyone elses iPhones and iPads even though Tim says it wont.
In IOS 6.0.1 If your having this issue, slide down from the top of your screen on iPhone or iPad to get to your 'notificiations' screen. At the top of your notifications are 2 buttons. One says "tap to tweet" the other says "tap to post" and has a FB icon.
Click "tap to post" that has the FB icon, type your message and it WILL show up on your wall as "posted via IOS".
Problem solved!!!!

Dec 23, 2012 6:08 PM in response to JustMe68_86by KiltedTim,That is NOT the same as using the Facebook app as you indicated you were doing.

Jan 15, 2013 5:53 AM in response to JustMe68_86by Candy_J,I have the same problem... When using the Facebook App on my iPad or iPod Touch, it says "via mobile" and not "via ios".
My iPad is version 5.1.1 and iPod Touch is version 6.0.1.

Jan 15, 2013 6:24 AM in response to Candy_Jby KiltedTim,Posting via the facebook app will NOT append "via ios" to your posting. That is a design decision made by the developer (facebook). You can not change it.

Feb 11, 2013 1:40 AM in response to siddhu.Rby Meg St._Clair,Why on earth does it matter? I doubt that most of the people reading your posts on FB notice or care where you've posted them from.
