Everytime I booted up I've had 3 icons on the lower right side of the screen as part of the Dock, Desktop, Documents and Downloads.  This morning I booted up and my Desktop icon was gone.  I rebooted a couple of times and it was still gone.  I have many important websites that I go to in that Desktop folder.

How do I get it back?

Thanks.

The dock uses links to folders (like documents, downloads, or any others you've placed).  The desktop folder is not normally part of the dock since it is, well, the desktop.  Files in the desktop folder are displayed on the desktop.

Open finder and go to your home directory (should be named your username).  Inside that folder you willl see the desktop folder.  If you want it on the dock, drag it to the dock and a link will be created.
