Hi all, thank you in advance for your kind assistance. I bought my MBP last Dec 2012, planning to use it for music production. On around my 2nd week of its use I have already experienced a kernel panic -- surprising given its supposed robust features. I went to the store to have it check, and they ran a hardware test and saw that everything was well in place. Also did PRAM restart of my unit and learned to repair my disks once in a while, also making sure that all apps were completely closed before shutting down. However, thinking I did all the necessary precautions, last night my desktop froze on me, while just using Preview. Note that I haven't even done any heavy processing activities nor recording on this thing yet and these made me uneasy. Only used this for internet and school work -- typing, and online reseach -- ever since.

As of now I am at a loss at what options I have in alleviating this situation.

Since you're still under warranty, I would simply go back to your local Apple Store or an AASP and have them fix what's wrong. Could be something bunged up in the installation of ML - but you shouldn't have to worry about that, let the techs install the OS anew for you: that's what your warranty is for.

If they still say that all of the hardware checks out OK, then you're likely having OS X or third-party software issues. Can you post your last kernel panic log here? The text please. See
