Hi there

I am editing down a series of live performance recordings into tracks using Garageband 11 and iTunes 11. These tracks are long mp3 tracks taken from a desk feed.

The way I'm doing this is to import the mp3 onto a basic track then I find where I'm wanting to split the track. I split the track then I highlight the part that I don't want to export and copy it (so I can paste it back in later to continue editing it). I am then left with the music on the timeline that I want to use to create the track. I then share the track to iTunes to create the track. Then once exported I then delete off the timeline the track I have just exported and then paste back the rest of the recording to continue editing. I then repeat this process until I have finished breaking down the recording.

This I have found to be a very quick and easy way of splitting up the recordings and creating the tracks however there is a small problem, when I export the tracks Garageband seems to add about a second of dead space onto the end of the tracks. I guess if you were creating a normal album or a studio track this would be fine however as these are live performances I want the tracks to flow without any breaks. I have tried using the 'Gapless Album' setting in iTunes but the gaps are still there.

Is it possible to tell Garageband to not add this dead space at the end of each track when I export to iTunes? Am I going about this task in completely the wrong way?

Any help / advice would be greatly appreciated.
