Q: how do you get rid of adware in safari that creates hyperlinks to product websites?

I use thepiratebay.se and utorrent and I'm afraid somehow I've let adware screw up my safari broswer. I have a website www.lucidocopper.com and I have noticed several words are now hyperlinked to 3rd party's product websites. Now I'm afraid it's affecting the uploading of pictures to my website. I have not downloaded anything and I'm not sure what to do. I'd deleted all unknowns from application folder and all wondershare files from my finder. Are there any anti adware or anti virus software for mac to install to protect me in the future and ferret out the issue?

One of the hazards with using torrent or pirated software web sites is that so much of their junk is loaded with malware. Personally my suggestion is to just stay away from them thereby avoiding all of the problems.

yes, I understand that. I was using demonoid, then it went down. My friend assured me piratebay was safe, but I guess not. How do I fix? Or get rid of the adware?

That is a friend if he is trying to feed you a line like that.

You can try http://www.wikihow.com/Uninstall-Ad-Aware-Free-Internet-Security

After that I would try using ClamXav to scan for other garbage.

From the Safari menu bar, select

Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Extensions

If any extensions are installed, disable them and test.
