I don't know if it's possible or not, but I'd like to make a Valentine Card using Photo Booth that I could  send by Email. Can this be done? If so, how? Incidentally, I'm sure that I could probably use iPhoto to do this, if I knew how, but I'm more familiar with Photo Booth. I think I can handle that.

Take the picture or make the movie, select it in the Photo Booth tray, click Photo Booth's Email button, complete recipient's address and add any additional material in Mail, and send.

"add any additional material in mail" How? How would you add a valentine, for instance?

    Hi Niku,

In PhotoBooth on the right-hand side below the picture area, you will see a little button that says "Effects". If you click on that (before you take the picture) you will see that there are several pages of different effects you can select that will superimpose on your photo. Then follow mns's instructions for getting it to an email page. Once in email, you can select the Edit button at the top of the mail page, and then select "Special Characters". There you will find all kinds of emoticon-type things that you can click to insert into your mail message (including hearts, heart-shaped candy boxes, flowers, etc. Once you have selected what you want, you can make them bigger by selecting them and changing the font size.

    Hope this helps!

    Cheers,

Okay, I'll take a look. I never got past that "Effects" section because it always seemed to me that it was intended for children and teenagers. I hope that "Special Characters" section has something for adults.

Or you may want to consider Mail's Stationery options.  There's a "Heart" theme under Sentiments.  To use it, open Mail, start a new message, click the Show Stationery button, select the Heart theme, them drag a Photo Booth photo or movie into the frame to replace the default photo with your own.  You can add text in the spaces on the card.

    Most excellent mns!

I opened mail from the photo booth (once I made my "test photo" with hearts around my head), and when I opened the Stationary pane and double-clicked on the Heart stationary, it moved my photo that was already there right into the heart!!!

This is fun! And I always love to learn new stuff! Thanks!

    MNS579,

Okay, I did it. It wasn't the greatest Valentine, but I was unable to find what I wanted by browsing. I also learned something about MAIL that I hadn't known before and will probably use in the future. I'll also make a point of becoming more famiiar with iPhoto, which I assume is more suited for the job in any way you could imagine. Or, I suppose I could post a Valentine video with music on YouTube. You may find it hard to believe, but I was able to teach myself how to do that and have posted four musical videos. Not that it's somthing to brag about. How could it be when hundreds of thousands, if not millions, have done the same thing? Anyway, thanks for your help. One last thing: I seem to have been awarding points incorrectly. Some have even accused me of trying to award them to myself. Anyway, my intention is to award the point for helping me to you. This time I'll click on "This solved my question" first; then, I'll send this reply. I hope that's the correct order and combination.

    Hi Niku,

Well the hearts around my head were from the Photo Booth Effects....

And you did award mns the points correctly! Good job! Also, don't let anyone accuse you of awarding points to yourself....you can mark your own answer as correct, but it doesn't do anything except mark the answer (it's not like you are giving yourself points....) Happy Valentine's Day!

    Cheers,
