i have just had my HD erased and reinstalled at Apple Genius bar.

I now need to transfer/migrate my old files from the time machine to my reinstalled HD on my MBPro.

Can anyone advise on what are the steps?

Many thanks in advance.

Connect the Time Machine backup drive to your computer. Open Migration Assistant in the Utilities folder. Follow the directions.

Restore only your Home folder, third-party applications and support files, and system preferences. After migrating you will have a second Home folder. The one created at the Apple Store and the one you just migrated. Restart the computer and log into your migrated Home folder. Then delete the store created Home folder.
