I'm using Viber on a BlackBerry and I just got a new iPhone and I will keep using this App but my question is by the time I remove the SIM card and put it into my new phone, will the messages that are stored on the 4s will be deleted or will they remain storraged on the old phone?

I hope I'm making it a little clear for you to help me out. Thank you and have a great week.

    This is an official rep. of Viber Media.

     

    Viber supports only one device per phone number, therefore, installing Viber on a new device will cause deactivation of your previous account and all of your data will be deleted.

    I have a different Viber question, couldn't find a way to contact Viber Support on Viber.com and couldn't find this question from anyone else.

     

    I very much like the concept of Viber and would like to use it to communicate with my family but the connection is often too weak and and therefore not stable enough to hold a satisfactory conversation. Both of us are using iPhone 4 and both on wifi. The obvious explanation is that the wifi bandwidth is too low, or signal strength too weak at one end, or both.

     

    But what I don't understand is why FaceTime with video works significantly better under exactly the same conditions? Why should Viber with voice only need more bandwidth?

    Hello,

     

    My Viber was working perfectly fine until I updated to iOS 6.1 and now am not receiving the "Access code" and when I click on the call activation I do not receive the call, I also have a Blackberry Smartphone and I tried registering my number and I got the activation code for the Blackberry Version but am not receiving the code for my iPhone version. I have also tried getting others from different country mainly Canada and United States to try and register my number but the code never comes. Only with the Blackberry App it seems to work fine. Am using an iPhone 4, on Wifi with 2G but I use Wifi to make calls. My friends use Viber on Andriod.

    Sometimes 3G reception could be low, and this is something we cannot control. Naturally this affects Viber's call quality and results in disruptions and broken sound.

    We are continuously trying to improve our handling of 3G, so you can expect better performance as newer versions of Viber are released.


    Please note that having full 3G reception doesn't mean your internet's bandwidth is at the maximum expected. When you see a "full reception bar", it merely means that physically, your phone is covered with the cellular signal.


    When it comes to the bandwidth itself, your connection could still be slow due to various different reasons, such as being in an area with many other users from the same provider, thus congesting the network.


    Meanwhile, WiFi- WiFi calls on Viber should generally be very clear and are free of such disruptions.

     

    @yungkratic -

     

    Please try removing Viber, wait 24 hours, reinstall and try again (make sure you try both the SMS and the automated call options).


    In addition, you may try to register to Viber with a different number (for example - your home landline number, a friend's number, etc.), in order to determine whether the problem is specific with your number, or a general one.

    I have already tried all the methods you listed and all of them failed. I reinstalled Viber about 16 times and tried the same method every 24 hrs but I do not received the Code by SMS neither do I receive the automated call, I also tried using a different number and the same problem.

    Are you getting an error message when trying to register, or simply waiting for the code (via SMS and automatic call) and it never arrives?

    I wasn't getting any error message, the code was never arriving but some one from Viber Customer care helped me because I had submit a ticket. He goes by the name of "John A." he said it's a temporary problem which they are currently working on. He also said in order for me to solve this issue I need to choose under country- "United States" and type in my number along with the '1'. Example: Choose 'USA' 123244556 and it worked. Thank you very much

    Indeed, this is a known issue and the temporary solution is to register using the USA country code of "+1".

    May we ask what phone you are using Viber on?

    Ok, thank you for the informatino.

    As our Support Team told you, we're looking into this problem at the moment, and we hope to have a permanent fix included in our next update (that will allow you to register normally with your own country code, and not the USA's).

    I had downloaded the app to two devices, an Ipad and an Iphone.  The Ipad receives texts that are sent from and received by the iphone.  The install and synch with contacts worked fine with the iphone initially....went back to use Viber on iphone the following day to test before a trip, and it prompted me to install the cell number again.  It now tells me that it is an invalid number.  Have unistalled from Ipad and iphone and tried to reinstall several times  to iphone only....same error message...have given Viber to 12 persons as a point of contact for upcoming trip starting tomorrow and am now unable to use....any solutions for me?  Thanks!
