If I'm getting this correctly, you can open Pages documents but not save or export. Are you certain that you are using a fully registered version of Pages? What you describe sounds a little like a Trial version that has expired. Sometimes we may have an expired trial version of iWork in addition to a more recently purchased fully-owned copy. Unless we eliminate this trial version we will continue to have trouble. Do you think this might be the problem?

Thank you...but no, it is the full thing. It takes five solid minutes to open the document and it just seems to be too full of data. I can save and export other documents so it is because of the tracking changes but I am in a compete state as I have a deadline tomorrow.

My suggestion then would be to open the problem document and divide it up into chapters, or other logical partitions, and save each portion to a separate file. To do this, Copy Page Thumbnails from the Thumbnail pane in the large document and Paste the thumbnails to the Thumbnails pane of a new document. These new documents should behave better.

Thank you so much - I don't have time to try that now but that was what I was thinking I needed to do, but didn't know how to do it! I will try in the morning...

PS - because if you copy and paste into another document it delets all the tracing comments and changes and those are what I need. I hope your system prevents that! Thanks again...

Some quick questions.
- Version of OS X Pages?
- Mac OS X version?
- Installed memory ( > About This Mac)?
- Size of that Pages document you cannot export?
- Filesize. Select document icon and then command+I (eye).
- Number of Pages
- Number of Images
- How many other open applications when attempting to export above document?
- Pages error message when export fails.
