Is there a way I can get the iPad to convert a particular symbol correctly? At the moment ios key note seems to convert things pretty well, a few formatting things here and there but overall not bad.  However, it can not read the forward/right arrow symbol (back and up seem fine)

I consistently get a symbol that looks like a W on top of a horizontal 3 inside a square.  (I tried a copy/paste but it looks like a blank square)

These are class lectures made by teachers on PowerPoint, so I have no control over their production.  I know I can do a find/ replace but I'd rather not have to do this for each lecture. Especially as I am still not certain if it always represents a forward arrow

Any info on what this symbol is i.e specific thing or what all symbols become when not understood would also be greatly appreciated

Thanks

I suspect the people making the lectures are using a font which is not available on the iPad, and users cannot add fonts, so there is no way to fix it.

The symbol you describe is probably this one from Apple's last resort font, which is displayed when no font has a character from the Private Use Area of Unicode.  The Private Use Area should not be used when you are creating text that others have to be able to read.  I am sure they could find a standard Unicode character to replace what they are currently using.  If you can provide a photo (use the camera icon to upload), I could probably suggest one.
