Welcome to the Apple Support Communities

As you are running OS X Mountain Lion, open  > Software Update and install all the updates you have. Do you have any problem updating the MacBook Pro?

I have not been able to update my MacBook Pro in months.  I'm up to 6 updates that fail everytime.

    HI,

The Original Poster states they are using OS X 10.8.2 despite posting in the Lion (OS X 10.7.x) area.

Could you be specific about which OS version you are running and which Updates are listed in the App Store > Updates that don't appear to work ?
