Trying to have a text substitution in the To: field of mail.app and it isn't working. Anybody know why? Does Text Substitution not work everywhere?
What programming language.
Please copy code or auotmator script.
Are you referring to the Text Substitution you get when you select text and right click? If so no that isn;t active everywhere and I don't believe you can use it in a mail header.
System Preferences : Language & Text : Text
Is Text Replacement also checked in Mail > Edit > Substitutions?
Yes it is.
I have shortened my popular email addresses to things like hp_.
Oh, now it's working. OK, something strange is going on. I will monitor its behaviour and come back to this thread if it starts acting up again.
I find that I get auto completion on email addreses out of my contacts. Seems to work better then trying to create my own replacement.
Sorry, I don't follow. You will have to elaborate.
