Thanks for your help. I didn't realize there would be an issue. The person I spoke to at AT&T told me there would be no problem

The AT&T person you spoke with is misinformed -- there is no way to make an AT&T phone work with Verizon, and locking/unlocking has nothing to do with that limitation.
