    Announcement:

A new version of the Trackpad++ is coming soon. This version will add... well, the most anticipated new gesture! The one many of the Trackpad++ users have been talking about during the past year.

@Community: Hey, I want You to predict what exact feature is coming. Any ideas?

Hi Vladimir. Thank you for making this software. I had been getting irritated by the trackpad in Bootcamp. I had a few blissful hours of normal operation with Trackpad++ however now after starting I get the 'Cannot Communicate with trackpad++ driver" message...advising me to re-install which I did but it appears to be happening repeatedly...

Im running a late 2011 MBP 2.2 with Windows 7 bootcamp.

It makes no difference when I reinstall as upon startup when the tray loads it comes up with the message.....any ideas? Thanks!

Tried the latest release in Windows8 32 bit on a Macbook Air 2,1 (mid 2009).

I think the driver shipped with Trackpad++ replaced "Apple Multitouch Mouse" verson 4.0.0.1, with "Apple Multitouch" version 3.x.x.x.

Since I already had one "Apple multitouch" device before the installation, after the installtion I had two devices with the same name. Should it be this way?

I notiecd that no gesture worked, and my the two buttons below the trackpad had also stopped working. However, mouse movement and scrolling felt smoother.

Did it really install correctly? And should my trackpad buttons really be disabled? If so, how can I move a window (without the "tap n drag" feature which I dont want to use)?

@gechustyle: your problem is that trackpad has the button! Is it really Mid-2009 Macbook Air? I though it's been the first generation that had no button... Because only the buttonless trackpads are supported!!! In fact, during the years the Trackpad++ is there, and no one ever complained, so I was  sure Mid-2009 had no trackpad button already..... I  will fix this information asap if you are sure the Mid-2009, and not the earlier generation of the MBA in your property. I DO APOLOGIZE for this misiniformation...

@All: Sorry for not  being there for a while, there reason was, I've got some personal problems, not related to development... But thanks God everything is OK, and I'm back now! (It was NOT that the Apple had took me like some of people wrote on the previous page )

Regarding the new feature: yes, definitely this is 3-finger dragging, and it's development is already in the stage when it is clear it will be made available. Although no exact ETA can be given right now.

@arotto, @All: right, at this moment the PayPal donation cannot be made, working on the solution now, nothing too special, just the ordinary big fat bureucracy bit from the PayPal. I'll write here and let You know when the donations are possible again. Please let me thank You in advance!

hi vladimir nice to see you back here. I was wondering if you had any ideas about my problem above - thanks for your time and driver!

@V-l-a-d-i-m-i-r: I´m sure the MBA is called Macbookair2,1, and has trackpad buttons. Even though not all features seemed to work, it sure seemed like the movement was better with your driver. So even though you don´t support it, I might use it anyways. I have one big problem though: How to people without trackpad buttons move a window in Windows?

    Vladimir,

If this is three finger dragging that you've implemented, I just want to say that you are my all time hero, and a huge thanks to you and all involved! I have been missing this feature from my Mac EVERY time I have logged into Bootcamp... I can't believe Apple would make such a scaled down, horrible driver/software for their own hardware (actually, I CAN believe this, in a way).

I've tried your solution in the past (quite a while ago) and was disappointed that it was still somewhat incomplete for my liking. It has come a long way since then, and you once again have my use.

I definitely do want to make a donation to this development, and when you do come up with a solution to being able to do so, please post... I will definitely follow this thread and your site in the meantime. Thanks again for your hard work.

P.S. Also wanted to emphasize the request from the user Pratnala on this page. I would also love to be able to swipe down with two fingers from the top edge to bring down the app bar in Metro.

@SWAN909808: Wow, I am surprised. For so long time, there hasn't been even a single problem report in Windows 7, because all the procedure for Windows 7 is very well tested already, not changed for a while, and confirmed to work by thousands of people. 'Cannot Communicate with trackpad++ driver' literally means the driver has not been loaded (usually not installed). However, you mentioned you initially have had a good time when Trackpad++ was functioning fully and well. Do you exit the Trackpad++ Control Module from tray before reinstalling? It's very important to do so to have the Trackpad++ reinstalled properly. So each time after reinstallation you have a short time when everything works?

@bb426: Thank you. Oh yes, this is 3-finger dragging. Just please be patient, it will take time to make this feature work at least moderately well, and I cannot not make it public until that. A lot of work, actually.

@gechustyle: on a buttonless trackpad, there is what I call default or 'ordinary' dragging: physically click the trackpad and hold, now move the second finger or both. You can move freely, not just the bottom (yes, this is one more glitch of the Boot Camp-native driver). This type of dragging works perfectly with Trackpad++.

@V-l-a-d-i-m-i-r: I tried what you described but it does not work. I can drag some windows but not for example the Recycle bin, if I enable "Tab-Drag". Yet I haven´t figured out a consistent way of using the tab-drag feature. Sometimes it snappes, others it doesn´t. Is this perhaps the result of my trackpad with buttons differ too much compared to the trackpad model you targeted Trackpad++ for?

UPDATE1: I was able to move the Reycle bin. I get the most chance of succeeding when I tripple click something..

UPDATE2: Maybe it was a question of technique after all Now I have higher success rate. I think the key was to do one click, and then a second, and now have a micro pause before starting the move the mouse button. Tab-drag is enabled. I tried the "secondary click" feature but it didn´t work on my model.
