Safari has been closing when I open a new tab.  It is not every time, but about 1 in 4.  What is going on and what can I do to stop this?  Thanks!

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

☞ In the Finder, select Go Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.

    Step 1

Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left.

Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them (command-C) to the Clipboard. Paste (command-V) into a reply to this message.

When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.

Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

    Step 2

Still in the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports for crash reports related to the process. The report name starts with the name of the crashed process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don’t post shutdownStall, spin, or hang logs — they're very long and not helpful.

That's a System Preferences crash report, and it's a month old. Is there no Safari or WebProcess crash report?

System Preferences crashed when you tried to open the Network preference pane. Does that still happen?

From the Safari menu bar, select

    Safari Preferences Extensions

If any extensions are installed, disable them and test.

Is this crash repeatable, or has it only happened once?

how to address a problem directly to you ?

I find your comments allways correct and to the point!

Problem with connecting TP-Link Wireless Print Server  TL-WPS510U

    New configuration

I bought yesterday a new wireless router,  TL- MR3040 to enable me to use a dongle as the dialup service is very slow.

This I successfully configured in a few minutes, this connects to 2 iMacs, mac pro, 2 Iphone’s and 2 ipad’s.

I still have a problem with the print server and sent you screen shots to enable you to see what was the last configuration I was able to achieve which sill did not resole my problem.

I was able to go as far as entering the password which failed as admin, so I am still at a loss on how to proceed.

Please advise if I am to receive further advices as mac users in Colombo Sri Lanka are as rare as hens teeth so no support is available mac tech geeks are non available.

This may be one of the rare occasions when repairing permissions in Disk Utility is necessary. Launch it and see the built-in help for instructions, if you need them. Then test.
