Jan 23, 2013 5:50 PM in response to Msbrouseby carol1945,I am curious; why do you want a @me account? What is wrong with the @icloud account? I am thinking of deleting my @me account. Maybe I should not do that???? Please let's discuss this.

Jan 23, 2013 6:30 PM in response to carol1945by esteban2800,I believe both @me and @icloud are aliases from the parent @aol.com. I have a @me account that I don't even use. Stick with @icloud, it's much better and easy to configure on the new iPhone.

Jan 24, 2013 1:13 PM in response to Highlordkramby esteban2800,The data will only be deleted on your iPhone but you can downloaded again from iCloud. It does not delete data in iCloud a I don't think you can delete your account permanently. The delete part only refers to your iPhone data. I have seen this message and you can either delete or keep the data. Keep in mind, the message just refers to the data on your phone.

Feb 13, 2013 7:06 PM in response to Highlordkramby pattypeng,Nope, not fixed with the new ios. Checked with CS, it is simply not possible to change me or icloud addressed once it is associated with your Apple ID.
Their "solution." Change the primary email address--uh, nope. Change to a new Apple ID--uh, nope.
Have as many people as possible ask for this to be a changeable/editable setting. Uh-yup.
Please do so!
Unresolved issue for over 2 years and many versions of the OS.

Feb 14, 2013 4:04 PM in response to Highlordkramby Comp_CAC,Matt's solution does work.
"You can delete the account, but when you try to log back in with your old Apple ID, it just brings that same mistyped email address back under the Advanced, then Mail settings of the iCloud Account."
That is the problem. You do not want to log back in with your old Apple ID or else you go back to step 1 of the puzzle.
1. First, change your Apple ID on this site for itunes/apple.
- Here is the link to do so: http://support.apple.com/kb/HE40
2. Then, follow Matt Curtis' directions.
3. When you sign in, use the new email address that you changed on apple/itunes
[in step 1] to connect to iCloud.
-Do not use your previous email.
I have had this problem where I had my email on itunes/apple changed to my official email that I use for everything. Then I went to iCloud but it would lock and revert back to my old email address. I then followed Matt Curtis' directions and it seemed that because I had changed my Apple ID email, it all worked in one try after I signed in with my new official email linked to my old account.
Hope this helped

Feb 17, 2013 8:00 AM in response to chris_in_cloudby Wikidnurse,I changed my email address from one carrier to another and thought I had changed it everywhere BUT just recently found out it was not changed on my iCloud account!
Maybe, because, I had made the change everywhere else it worked? (iTunes, iPad, iPhone). This is what I did......
I have no clue what I am doing so I uploaded all my pics that were on my iPhone to another device to be "safe" and then went to settings then icloud and closed my eyes and pushed the red button. I decided not to worry about photo stream and said yes to keeping everything else on my iPhone. I agreed to delete and when I came back in to iCloud on my iPhone my new "real" address was there and I entered my password and.....it worked fine.
Perhaps because everything else was in new address prior to deleting, it worked?
Just comments from peanut gallery here! ;o)
