Does anyone know how to revert back to IOS update 6.0.1/6.0.2 from 6.1.?

My 4s has lost wifi and Bluetooth connectivity, tried all recommended actions and no luck, bar using a hairdryer or freezing as some have tried.

Not happy.  Have recommended everyone I know not to do update yet.  Thanks for your input.

iPhone 4S, iOS 6.1

Just adding what I have tried, as recommended by apple site, reset network settings, no go. Connect to iTunes, sync for backup, and complete restore, no luck either.

Update 6.1.1 especially for iPhone 4S, did not work either. :(

    Restore the device as new.

If the problem continues, take the device to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.

Mine 4s has the same problem. Both wifi and Bluetooth buttons are grey. Some forums told me to returned to apple store.

First thing this morning I rang Apple store and have an appointment Wednesday. Tried with new update, restoring network settings again, full restore, although not as new phone, as I do not want to have to re-input all phone numbers and the like again if I don't have to. Will let you know what happens at appointment.

Fingers crossed they don't say wait til 23rd until next update is available, I did that waiting til yesterday with no luck. Good luck to everyone else!

No offense, but that is simply an ignorant statement.

If the device is used as designed, contacts are synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service.  Simply sync them back after restoring the device as new.

Only a fool would rely on a device that can be easily lost/stolen or damaged as sole source of data storage.

Constructive feedback would have been more welcome than your opening sentence. I was just stating the reason why I did not restore the phone as new. Obviously I am ignorant, but isn't that the reason for a forum.... To get help.

Instead of making me feel like a complete twit, which you have successfully done, you could have easily reassured me that by doing a restore as new would not result in me having to re-enter the information, as I thought may happen. In not having a apple device prior to this one, I had to do when it was new.  Of course the phone is backed up, but having not lost a phone or had one stolen, I have never had to restore contacts and the like before.

And if my previous phone, my Nokia was lost or stolen, I would have had to re-enter everything. Now i live up to your fool description.  Please take the time to consider before you next comment that not everybody is technologically minded as you may appear to be, and not everyone is able to fully understand how the advances of technology have come in the last decade and are still learning, and see forums as an avenue to seek help and assistance from individuals who can assist in a positive manner without leaving a negative residue in one's mind when trying to solve a problem. I may be 60 or 40 or 20 years old, also consider that next time before you start with, no offence.... And inform instead of suggesting negative connotations in the same sentence.

I went to Apple yesterday to have them look at my phone. It was a 4S, had greyed out Wifi, no bluetooth connectivity. They replaced my phone. Tonight my phone is doing the same thing as my old phone, so I'm annoyed/upset with that now - time, effort and money wasted for nothing.

Jfromvc - as long as you back it up, your contacts should still all be there . I backed it up before I left yesterday, and then just set my new iPhone up as a backup from my old iPhone.

Hi again, today's journey to the Apple store was worthwhile. Not only did I get a replacement phone,  it was still under warranty, but also an explanation as to what may have caused the problem.

According to the technician who assisted me, as the upgrade from IOS 5.- to 6.- is quite large, in the transfer of information upgrade, apparently the programming data for wifi and Bluetooth connectivity was lost, which apparently sometimes happens, this being described as a freak occurrence. According to the technician, if this occurs, it becomes a hardware fault and there is no repair, replacement is essentially the only option. Fortunately as I was within the warranty period, on the spot replacement was available, already with IOS 6.- on it, so was informed that the same problem would not occur.

Upon arriving home, after a minor upgrade to 6.1.2 I was able to put everything back on to the phone so it ran like it did three or so weeks ago. The other advice given was to always hook up to iTunes via your computer to do the larger updates, those that increase in whole number, as those that increase incrementally are usually very minor and are usually an addition of data, not replacement.

I hope this helps others with their problem, mine in the end was resolved within ten minutes in-store. I dread to think what situation I would have been left in if I was not within the warranty period. Good luck to you all!

Hi I am experiencing the same thing as you. I was just replaced the phone yesterday from apple shop. But what I am different with you is my warranty was ended 4 months already. In the beginning he wanted to charge me USD 200 but I insisted that this is their problem. I refused to pay or if they just roll back the 4s to 6.0.1. of course finally they free to replace a new 4s to me. The new phone the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth of course it's fine however I found other issue when I get back to home - the gmail in exchange does not work at all in mail app. oh my God! Now I am stuck here and don't know what to do. is anyone having the same problem?
