I have been having this problem for months, ever since I "upgraded" to music match.  Never had it before.  The ONLY songs that I'm having problems with are songs that were purchased from iTunes.  I have deleted all the music on my phone, redownloaded, blah, blah, blah.  Everything plays fine in iTunes.  It's only on my 4S that I have the cut-off problem, and only when downloaded from Music Match.  If I turn that off and download the song, it plays fine.  I actually have one song that won't play at all if I download w/ Music Match on.  You download it, hit play, and it immediately skips to the next song.  And it only has that issue, with that song.  If I play it on my PC it's fine.  Apple, we wait, impatiently, to listen to music we bought from you, but can't listen to.

I have been having the same problem for months. Sometimes a song cuts short. Other times it skips to the next song on the playlist, while the artwork for the previous song still showing. This is ridiculous that this problem persists for so long after being identified.

I'm having exactly the same problem. Have tried all kinds of things to resolve the problem but no luck.

I've signed up to free services that are better implemented than this.

The developers/testers should be ashamed of themselves.

    Sort it out Apple.

I had the same problem but what I did was I deleted the tracks from my iTunes library on my PC from iTunes and iCloud. If u have your iPad connected to your PC this should also delete the tracks from your iPad as well. What I did then was I turned off music match on my PC then imported the deleted tracks back into my iTunes library. Which then automatically synced the tracks back to my iPad. After I had done that I disconnected my iPad from my PC and then turned music match on my PC back on. Then what that did was it went through the process of matching the songs I had just added to my iTunes library and then uploading the rest and artwork etc. It did the trick.

1- Delete tracks from iTunes library from PC and check box also delete from iCloud.

2- Turn off music match on PC

3- Import deleted tracks back into your iTunes library

4- Sync tracks normally (with iTunes Match off) automatically or manually depending on your settings.

5- Disconnect iPad from PC then turn music match on your PC back on.

6- Music match should then go through the process of matching the songs in the iTunes Store and uploading the rest etc.

Basically it seems to be that the problem is caused when u add tracks or albums to your iTunes library on your PC and then sync them to your iPad with iTunes Match on your PC on.

As much as I appreciate all the "workarounds" that folks are offering, the fact that we have to jump through these hoops completely defeats the purpose of iTunes match.  The thing is, ALL the songs I'm having problems with are songs I bought from iTunes.  There is no "delete and reimport".  And also, I only have problems with these songs on my iDevices.  If I download them in iTunes on my PC they play fine, it's only in my iPhone and iPad that I have problems.  This is infuriating because the entire point of using iTunes Match is so I can download any song, anywhere, on any device WITHOUT needing to connect to iTunes.  Yes, if I turn off iTunes Match on my iPhone and sync "the hard way" the songs transfer over and play fine.  That's not helpful!  I'm paying for iTunes Match so I don't have to do that.

Sorry for the rant.  I keep seeing post after post of suggested workarounds for this issue and am flabbergasted that we're at iOS 6.1.3 and there is still no fix for this.

I had this problem for 18 months and finally isolated the problem to a single computer and now have a solution. Sort of. Here's what I know:

-This was only a problem for 'matched' songs on iOS devices. Purchased and uploaded songs had no issues, and playback on any computer was not affected.

-This was only a problem for songs added to iTunes Match from my old work PC- songs added from my Mac at home never had this issue, and now I have a new work PC and the issue has gone away. So it was helpful for me to isolate the issue to a single computer, which I no longer have.

-Which leads me to my workaround, which Apple Support told me about:

    • From my home computer (or now my new work computer), I make sure the song is downloaded locally.
    • I delete the song in question from my library and the cloud (first making note of its position in any playlist so I can replace it later). When asked if I want to move the file to the trash, I say no, keep the file.
    • I re-add the song to my itunes library from the file downloaded locally, and the song plays completely.

If you have more than one computer that you've uploaded songs from, this may be your culprit- try deleting and re-uploading from the other computer if your problem is similar to mine. Obviously this is only a real solution if you have the option to get rid of the problematic computer as I did with my old work PC- obviously not an option for everyone.

For whatever it's worth, I am only having this problem with purchased music, which is mostly why this is so infuriating.  If it were an uploaded song, maybe I could understand, but it's purchased music.  I don't have time to be downloading, deleting, reuploading, blah blah blah.  And I'm not convinced that would do anything anyway, the music is purchased.

    LETS GO APPLE!

Hey, iOS 7 is coming out.  Maybe they'll fix it for that?

April33rd. THANK YOU! To anyone still having issues, this isn't a work around. It is a complete fix. I bought the 4s and began matching from the beginning. At the time my old vaio laptop was our only computer, from which I uploaded my entire library. No matter what I tried i had this problem, despite clearing and re-syncing my phone on numerous occasions. The problem is old PCs, not apple.

Unfortunately, Apple is just being Apple here, and refusing to do extra work for the obsolete, especially if its PC oriented. So stop complaining people and fix your cloud. This fix took me all of 1 minute to complete, and then letting my new imac re-upload my cloud database automatically while I slept afterwards. Don't forget to clear your phone beforehand. The next morning turn match back on on your phone and its perfect. Songs play from the cloud as quick, seemless, and complete, as if they were on the phone already. EVERY song! Just like it is supposed to, go figure. All it took was using a modern computer.

So quit crying and get it done. Updating old playlists is a small price to pay.

I appreciate that this "workaround" may resolve the issue for some folks, but purchased music is not re-matched, or re-uploaded.  It's always in the cloud.  When Match sees purchased music, it ignores it.  While this may resolve the issues for some (for those who have the issue with matched/uploaded music), it does not resolve the issue for purchased music.  I turned on iTunes Match 9 months ago, on a Windows 7 PC I built 3 months earlier.  The computer is not old, and none of the songs I have problems were matched or uploaded.  They all play fine.  It is only purchased music I have problems with.

I actually have one song, "Chasing Cars" which I purchased from iTunes after I turned on iTunes Match.  The song plays great in iTunes (on my PC and my Mac), but will not play on my iPhone 4S.  Turn off Match and sync the old fashioned way, it plays fine.  Delete it, turn on match, download, doesn't play.  Not even 1 second of the song.  That's the worst of them, most cut out anywhere from 30 seconds to as much as 3 minutes before the song is over.

Ouch Caliban. That truly *****. You should know that purchased songs do delete from the cloud when you manually delete from cloud when prompted though, and then they repopulate when you re-sync. At least mine did. It may not be an obsolete technology issue in that case, but rather an issue with some specific pcs or windows iTunes.  The 'fix' in that case is swithing to a mac. I doubt you'll find an apple user with your problem. Worth a shot deleting the problem songs from the cloud manually though to find out if it works. Apple's code does work, though, there's a weak link somewhere else.

And it's possible that apple added a fix in the new iTunes version, so that's why it works. Don't knock it till you try it, it might just work.
