Feb 17, 2013 4:44 PM in response to sbrotherhoodby a brody,What you need is a Mac that predates 2006. And it should have the original discs or Classic already installed. If it is older than August 21, 2001, you can install the retail version of 9.2.1 on it if it has a G3 or G4 processor on it.

Feb 17, 2013 7:02 PM in response to Linc Davisby a brody,If you are going to get SheepShaver, you are legally obliged to also have the Mac you are getting the ROM file from. So you might as well just get that Mac. Also many Classic games are better run on 9.1 to 9.2.2 which are not able to run on Sheepshaver in anycase.

Feb 17, 2013 7:21 PM in response to a brodyby Linc Davis,If I had a 15-year-old Mac, I'd rather run SheepShaver. As for the legal issue, I consider it insignificant. Feel free to report my post for deletion if you disagree, and see what happens.

Here is a post I recently assembled for another similar question:
With the newer Intel Macs, you have to run a Classic emulator such as SheepShaver, which requires you to extract the Mac ROMs from your older Classic Mac and then install Mac OS 9.
A related program is Chubby Bunny, which comes bundled with all of that included (google the term "Classic-On-Intel v 4.0.1 chubby bunny").
