background color of row

Awhile back I manged to do a thing in Pages so that the entire row of plain text would have a background color. Even if there was no text the entire row would be colored. It looks nice but I've completely forgot how I did it.

Notice how the background color of the entire row is grey, even though there is a line break right after 'Highlighted text'.


How did I do this? I've been trying to figure out how but I don't have a clue. It's not simply the background color because it would be white where there is no text, and it is NOT a grey rectangle object. It's something to do with the formatting of the text.

    Select the text and the return, over to the beginning of the next line:


    Inspector > Text > More > Background Fills > check Paragraph > drag in a color from the Color Picker to the swatch
