I am trying to upgrade from 10.5.8 to 10.6.3

    Thomas. You are completely wrong! Running an Anti-Virus is relevant buddy!

     

    No, it's not. When you are trying to start up the computer from an optical disk, there is no anti-virus software running, because the system is not yet running. As dee239 has indicated that the machine "spits out the disk" when trying to boot the machine from the install disk, the issue is not anti-virus software, or any of the other things that you have suggested.
