Q: need help erasing hard drive for umax superman c500.

I have an old c500 that I will be recycling, but need to erase the hard drive first.  Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks.

A:

Yes.  Open the machine up, pull out the drive, and hit it with a hammer.  Make sure the platters get deformed - don't just destoroy the circuit board.  Bang on the top of the case of the drive until you punch most of the way through it.  Replace the drive in the case if you wish, and recycle away.

 

You may also wish to sell it on ebay; you may find a receptive audience.
