I have had my new iPone for 2 week - did the software upgrade to 6.1.1
No, you simply did not.
iOS 6.1.1 is for the 4S only.
How about some accurrate details of what is going on so that relevant assistance can be provided?

Since the upgrade my phone will not connect to any wi-fi network. I have reset the network settings but to no avail. It does not pick up the Router, DNS or Search Domain adresses - I have 4 iPone 4s's and they are all working - I must stress it was connected to my wi-fi and I did the upgrade via the wireless - it will not work.

Settings > Wi-Fi > select the network > Forget the Network.
Try connecting to the network again, does the iPhone find the network?
Does it connect?
Also, it may be helpful to power cycle the Wi-Fi router.

Hi Diesel - My wifes 4s was upgraded last night to 6.1.1 and has the same problem - I have tried all the settings over and over, I have rebooted my home network - I upgraded my i5 to 6.1.2 last night and its still the same. The phone does not pick up the Router, DNS or Search Domains setting - they are blank where my other phone a 4s that has not been upgraded has all those settings and is working fine. My phone sees the network but can't connect to it and that goes fro my home network, my office network and the public networks at shopping centres.
My phone was upgrqaded from 6.1 to 6.1.1 and last night to 6.1.2 and it is a new i5.
