Q: iTunes crashes every time I add a file to my library

Recently when trying to add a video file to iTunes, iTunes would crash every time. I thought it was just because I had an older version of iTunes, so today I updated iTunes and my iPod to the latest versions. I was just about to add a song to my iTunes library by pushing ctrl + v like I always do and it crashes every time. I also tried going to "Add file to library" and that makes it crash too. I don't know what to do. I want to add new music to my library, so I can transfer them over to my iPod, but it won't let me. Please help.
