Feb 21, 2013 4:00 AM in response to Snoopyjazzy2by mrchablis,Same here. I think it's just a bug and that the songs are actually deleted from iCloud.

Photos for MacIt does appear that the new behavior is "hiding" rather than "deleting." What this means in practicaly terms I don't know yet.

Feb 24, 2013 2:50 AM in response to Snoopyjazzy2by Jimzgoldfinch,Hi,
I have always suspected that deleted tracks are not really deleted! I think that only time will tell.
Since getting match I have been adding, deleting and readding files regularly. I have almost 25K non purchased tracks and they don't count previous removed tracks which i think must be well over 8K.
I support this by the fact that if you have deleted an uploaded track and try to get a match, the track is immediated recognised as previously been uploaded . i.e does not go through usual upload process.

Feb 24, 2013 7:24 AM in response to Snoopyjazzy2by adama1980,Almost all of my music is from my CD collection.
I regularly sell CDs and as I am doing this, remove the copy from my itunes library - If this is no longer going to be fully possible for things i've uploaded then I will be leaving the itunes match service.
Surely this can't be the case?

Why would you cancel the service just over this? Assuming you are otherwise pleased with the service. As far as I can tell the default behavior was actually to "hide" the tracks in the cloud anyway. Apple just made that explicit in the dialog. As far as I can tell hidden tracks do not count against the 25K total.

Feb 24, 2013 8:36 AM in response to Michael Allbrittonby adama1980,I suppose you're right, if i'm deleting it locally, effectively, i'm doing all i can to remove it.
i'm nowhere near 25k anyways (about 4-5k tops) so even if it did count, it wouldn't really effect me a great deal

Feb 26, 2013 9:31 PM in response to Jimzgoldfinchby RTW's,As far as I know, iTunes Match has never ever actually deleted anything from the cloud once it is uploaded. It always seems to be retrievable later simply by matching the same tracks again.
I HATE THIS.
If I want to delete something from the cloud, I want to DELETE it. I don't want to HIDE it.
Without getting into too much explanation, there are times when I want to re-add albums to iTunes Match and have them re-matched or re-uploaded. I don't want Match to "remember" the matches and uploads from before, before I DELETED them from the cloud.
There should be a way.

Mar 20, 2013 6:24 PM in response to Snoopyjazzy2by Russell Asplund,Very frustrated that I have the same problem here. My daughter was trying to listed to some Japanese lessons from school on my computer -- and now they are taking up a huge amount of tracks on iTunes match with no apparent way to delete.
Either remove the stupid limit, or give us a way to choose what files we want to be part of iTunes Match. Really, the idea of iTunes Match is fantastic, and I was hoping early problems with implementation would be improved. Instead things just seemed to take a huge, frustrating step backwards.Especially for anyone who is more than a causual consumer of music.

Photos for MacDelete the tracks from the iTunes library (but not the HDD) and hide them in the cloud. Turn off iTM, add the tracks again and change the media kind to Audiobook. Re-enable iTM. The tracks will no longer be in the cloud for you.
