I was looking for a program like IDVD which is no longer available at the app store.

Any suggestions for a good replacement.

I use to use Roxio Creator for a PC, now I am using a mac pro.

Thank you

Boy to I miss iDVD! I'm so ****** that they got rid of it. They also got rid of iWeb! I use both all the time!!!!

You can still get iDVD which is part of the retail iLife (either version 09 or 11) - available at Amazon, ebay, and other online resellers. It is well worth the money - I purchased a retail DVD just so I can reinstall if necessary. I would not put out movies without it!

As babowa said, it is still available. I would recommend iLife '11 but check when purchasing, as I believe a later copy of the suite was released without the program you require. But the earlier retail version definately have iDVD and iWeb included. I keep my copy under lock and key! I purchased it quite cheaply from eBay some time ago. I believe Amazon may be a very good starting point.

No, there is no later retail version; any retail iLife 11 contains iDVD and iWeb - the confusion is the result of Apple calling the three separate apps now available at the app store "iLife" even though they are sold separately.

Ah!. Thanks for that info. Have to be careful of what I believe these days!

Yeah, they could have just dropped the iLife name for the "new iteration" or, more precisely, the "apps that survived the chopping block".

Yeah. I use iPhoto obviously, and iDVD and iWeb. I don't even use iWork or GarageBand, so for me they dumped two of my three most valuable components in' iLife'. I agree. Drop the iLife reference as there is not much life left in the old dog.

To the OP, Roxio Toast Titanium is one good alternative to iDVD but lacks some features, especially in the editing department. It also doesn't come cheaply, so therefore if you can get a copy of iLife '11, you are probably getting more value for your dollar.

    There are none.  Use iDVD.

Purchase iLife 11  (includes iDVD) on disk.

IDVD is a wonderful piece of software and well worth the low cost of $40.

Yes, there are programs that will put a movie on a DVD.   I have tried most of the other substitutes including Toast, Burn, DVD Creator, Wondershare, and others.  None of them come anywhere near the ease-of-use and power of iDVD.

I just purchased it from Englland. $42.00  got fooled on price, I thought thre price was in US, but it was in British dollars. Thought I was bidding 2

$27.00, turned out to be in BP. I won at $42.00 US.

Not bad, at least lI have it.
