Feb 20, 2013 6:00 AM in response to theleftflankby widby,i have the same issue with my Ipod classic, the 160gb model. The error message 1439 appears. I've followed the guide posted earlier on this thread, but it hasn't helped.
I have also tried to reformat it but that isn't possible either. The reason is that it is apparently read-only.
Any more ideas?

Feb 20, 2013 4:43 PM in response to theleftflankby steerpike242,I just updated itunes with my ipod connected. When the update finished my computer didn't recognize the ipod and then itunes thought there were 2 ipods connected to my computer. After I disconnected the iPod I tried to turn it on where I get the big red X and what sounds like hard drive crunching. I've tried started in disc mode, but it won't.
And smacking the iPod on the table, is that really the way to get it to work???
