after updating my iPhone 5 to ios 6.1.2 battery consumption is quite a bit worse is it possible that with each update instead of improving the performance of the battery instead of the worst, I ask the Apple to provide as soon as possible to resolve this battery problem since after the firmware update can no longer return to the previous ios version. Thank you and hope for the best ......

Ditto.  Didn't even have a drain issue with 6.1.1.  Now with 6.1.2 it's draining like crazy.

    LAME!  Fix it, Apple.

I am going to make it as brief as possible my 1 month experience with my brand new Iphone 5

    -Januarry 11 - I purchase the Iphone 5

-First day the phone battery lasted on stand by for more than 24 hours

-Second day, I upgraded the software for IOS 6.1

-Battery issies begun. Battery on stand by last 4 - 6 hours

-I took the Iphone to Apple Store, they say everything is OK, that I had too many apps or that I should have make the restoration process from  "New Iphone" instead backing up.

-I do the New Iphone thing and the battery now lasts more than 24 hours on Stand By

    -Then Comes 6.1.1

    -Battery drain problems are back

-Restoring the Iphone as NEW does not works this time. I have to charge 3 times a day my Iphone 5

-Yesterday 6.1.2 addressing to fix this bug

-I do the upgrade. Worst than before, battery drains 10% in 10 Minutes in Stand by!!

-I cant make the battery to fully charge to 100%, no matter how long I plug it, even overnight, after 8 hours, I was expecting a 100% charge, but it was at 97%!!!! With all apps closed, WIFI and Bluetooth OFF

-I do the whole restoring process from NEW again. - NOTHING!! - It has been only 3 hours since i Umppluged it and now I have 33% and thats because I charge it on my car on my way to Work, about 30 minutes.

-6.1.2 its even worst that 6.1.1

    WTFF!!!!!!!  IS APPLE DOOMED?

Try switching LTE off if you have that option with your carrier. If you have barely a signal the constant search disconnect/reconnect for LTE could be affecting the battery life. Settings > General > Cellular > Enable LTE > OFF. Worth trying for a while.

I have the 4S, and my battery started draining on 6.1.1, and continues on 6.1.2.  Phone is warm to the touch sitting on my desk, and very warm when it's been in my pocket.

The battery barely lasts the day just sitting around whereas I used to get nearly two days of normal use if I turned it off at night.

I read that 6.1.2 was supposed to address an issue where communication with an Exchange server was draining the battery, and we use Office 365 at my insitution for email and calendar.  I'm not sure if those are comparable, but the people I know with iPhones who don't work with me aren't experiencing the same issue.  Maybe just a coincidence.

I don't use exchange and it is draining my battery like crazy.  Down from a full charge to 35% in about 2 hours after some music at the gym.

Apple is never going to fix it, because it is a problem with your phone, not with iOS 6.1.2 or any other version. And downgrading (which you will have to hack your phone to do, voiding your warranty) is unlikely to fix it, and will require that you restore your phone as new because you won't be able to restore a later backup to an earlier version. Of course, restoring your phone as new will fix the battery drain problem so you will have the illusion that downgrading fixed it.

But you could just restore as new and save the trouble of hacking your phone.
