Hi, I am actually getting really ****** at Apple and it's service all around. I updated to iTunes 11 and found that the NOTES sync box was missing to sync with my iPhone (I am using 10.6.8 and have not upgraded to Lion or Mountain Lion because some of my software will not work). I called support, got passed on to a couple of techs to iTunes section. The guy had no idea. He really did not know much about iTunes. He did say he was getting compliants about iTunes 11 and it's new interface being a real problem and people did not like it. He gave me info where to find last version of 10.7 to downgrade back. Did that and all is good. Now I am really afraid to upgrade my iPhone and new iPad to 6.1. I am afraid it will tell me I have to have iTunes 11 and iOS 10.8.
I have been an Apple user since they came out and used Windows for a while too. Apple is rally screwing up and it is not a good thing to get the Apple community ****** off with so much corporate BS. they have always been better than the rest and we have not had to put up with poor service like all the others. maybe we now have to. That is NOT a good thing.

Ok guys, back home, been experimenting. I have discovered that now with 6.1 installed on iPad 3, when wanting to do a search, in order not to make Music crash ( which it STILL does ) , if you go to say- Safari- on your iPad and then start to do a search, copy whatever you have input to the search box - make sure its more than 3 letters - and then go and paste the search string into the Music search box, hey presto ! it works ! it doesn't crash ! BUT DO NOT clear the text box if searching again, first ADD your next search string and only then go back and delete the original entry. It is not ideal, but at least it gives you some functionality until APPLE FIX THIS ISSUE.

Well I am back to not seeing my 426 albums just about 60 in the shared music. If I paste for example from Safari ABBA into the shared music in the music's app search box it is true it does not crash. But it does not find anything either.
So I am kind of back to ground one and thinking this is really a bug in the app.

WAIT! WAIT! WAIT!: I SPOKE TOO SOON.
When I went back and signed out of my Apple account on the iPad and then signed back in again there were all my 426 albums insured music.
AND YOU WERE DEFINITELY CORRECT: I can go into almost any program even notes and type for example ABBA and then copy and paste it into the search and it does indeed find the albums.
Weird as can be and certainly indicative of some type of bug in that you can paste but you can't type.
Thanks so much and again apologizing for typing in too quickly without testing thoroughly: you were correct.
The fact that we have to sign out sign back into iTunes is also indicative that the music app in iOS is not 100%.
Thanks for discovering this and I hope some others can try it to really verify it but I know it works as you said.

Brutal Apple. I upgrade the iPad to iOS 6 and voila, it's turned it into a piece of garbage. Music app now crashing while searching, showing limited artists while using home sharing. This wouldn't have happend 2 years ago.

Close to 30,000 views now. Still no fix. Unbelievable.

That part actually i have never had problems with it, it loads all the movies and plays them all, it is just slow to load but it works pretty well. The problem is only with the music.

I've been having the same problem. i restarted itunes, that didnt work, i signed out and back into home sharing that didnt work. ive read and tried just about everything. so i start messing around with the ipad (mini) and when i click more to go into shared itunes i noticed i have "Sort by Artist" on. i clicked that to off, and all of a sudden ALL my music showed up. not just 25 albums, all my music. Weird right. so i click "sort by artist" on again and all the music is still there. So thats what worked for me. hope it works for u guys

Hey everyone, the solution is as simple as signing out of home sharing on your device and then sign back in. Make sure you "kill" the music app first or it may not take.

That does work to bring back all of the album covers but but but:
•I have to do the same thing every day sometimes several times during the day. It is certainly not a permanent fix.
•The search function still doesn't work it still crashes the app after entering one or two letters for the search.
•This certainly isn't the way one would expect any product and certainly not an Apple product to work.
•The fact that this is never a issue with the app REMOTE indicates that it is a bug or problem with the app MUSIC on the iOS 6.x
Thanks for your post but I urge everyone to write to Apple either on the developer site for bugs or just to Apple customer service.

You can come over to my house and sign in and out of home sharing and force-quit music all day, and see how you will keep trying that, along with half a dozen other things. Nothing works to make our ios6 devices show more than 1/4 of our albums.

It sounds like your software has become corrupt and the only way to solve that issue to to do a clean restore (but start from scratch afterwards since your backup will contain the corrupt software.).
I agree, this wouldn't be what we should expect out of Apple products but the fact is, it is still software/hardware and is hardly perfect.
Apple released an iTunes update and iOS update yesterday (I think it was). Try updating the software since they claim there is big fixes in them. Signing out and back in worked for me.. I think my issue was due to changing my iTunes password recently and needed to update the password on my idevices.
AppleCare doesn't handle iTunes problems, so don't bother. There's an iTunes help section on apple's support section of the website.

Can anyone confirm if they had any problems with Movies via Homesharing.
Updated all devices (Ipads Mini & 4, and apple Tv) and all files are showing.
Occasionally the apple Tv's fail to connect and a quick restart usually gets it working again.
On the ipads I tried to stop a film which had been streaming for 30mins.
It stopped and the app exited however the sound continued to play throug the Ipad.
Had to trun the Ipad off to stop it.
Any others had similar experiences and is the reported anywhere else on the forum ?
