    What mac Pro model?

    What graphics card?

What kind of DVD? 10.6.0? 10.6.3? Full retail or model specific and what model?

When this happens, are there any red lights on next to any RAM DIMMS inside your Mac Pro?

(if in Europe, please remember not to stick your fingers in the fans inside. These fans do not have Europe-approved guards on them.)

That does seem to point to the NVIDIA Quadro G4000 grpahics as the issue. If you are trying to install a version of Mac OS X earlier than 10.6.5, it may not work properly:

The version on the "Full Retail" DVD is at latest 10.6.3.

Do you have another Mac? If so, which one?

Do you have the old graphics card? Which one?
